WCARS VEC offers license testing here in the Upstate.
If you or someone you know is looking to get their license or upgrade join them at their monthly third Saturday testing session.
If you’re planning to upgrade or getting licensed for the first time Gary Wise W4EEY offers online video and zoom courses to prepare you for your test. Please use the link below to visit his YouTube page for more information.
For all tests you should bring the following:
Photo ID (such as Drivers License or State ID)
Original and photocopy of your current Radio License or FCC issued FRN number if you do not currently hold a license. You must have a FRN as social security numbers are no longer acceptable for new license applications.
If you don’t have a FRN number please follow this link for information on how to acquire one from the FCC
Also please bring any CSCE’s you plan to present for verification for upgrades.
The testing fee is $10.
Exact change is preferred for the fees
Testing begins at 9 am
at The Red Cross Building
940 Grove Rd. near Greenville Memorial Hospital
